Purposes: The purpose of this study was to analyze whether acquisition of certificate has an effect on reemployment of disabled. Method: For the purpose of this study, the data from “Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled” which was conducted from 2008 to 2012, was used. 622 samples were selected by using Propensity score matching to minimize the selection bias, and analyzed by the frequency and period of reemployment by using Life-Table Model. The Cox Proportional Hazard Model was also used to analyze the factor which affected the reemployment of disabled. Results: The followings were the major results.
First, the difference of reemployment and time until reemployment depended on the possession one or more certificates. The percentage of disabled who possessed certificates succeeding in finding a job was 34.1% from the starting point of unemployment to 48 months, however, the percentage of disabled who did not possess certificates succeeding in finding a job was just 11.3%. This result demonstrated that the possibility of reemployment was higher with disabled who possessed one or more certificates than disabled who did not possess one or more certificates.
Seconds, possessing one or more certificates had an effect on reemployment of disables. Disables who possessed one or more certificates had a 1.579 times higher chance of being reemployed compared to those who does not possess any certificate. Also, the degree of disability, conditions of health, number of family members, and the experience of employment service also had a effect on reemployment of disabled.
Implications: Based on the results of this study, the support is necessary for acquisition of certificate and utilization. and constructing facilitation system which connected with job service and vocational training is demanded.
