The purpose of this study was to explore native English teachers’ attitudes toward a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program implemented in a Korean university and its effectiveness evaluated by their students. For data collection, the teachers (n = 46) were asked to fill out a survey questionnaire with 32 items questioning their attitudes toward the CDP, general English class, and assessment, whereas their students (n = 2,090) completed a survey questionnaire with six items designed to evaluate the effectiveness of the CDP. According to the data analysis by SPSS 21, the results, based on the mean differences, demonstrated that most of the teachers had above average attitudes toward the CPD program and general English courses of the university. Also, there were no significant differences for each category of the CPD program and general English courses in terms of their demographic information. In addition, the results of students’ evaluations of their teachers were positive. For future research, the researchers will quantitatively and qualitatively investigate native English speaking professors’ attitudes and suggestions toward a more efficient CPD program and general English courses.
