The purpose of this study was to analysis and compare the value orientations toward physical education classes of elementary school teachers. The subjects of this study were 93 preservice teachers in the department of elementary physical education of K university and 295 inservice teachers in 16 memo and province of Tacjon and Chungnam. Value Orientation Inventory of Ennis and Hooper. The conclusions of this study based on the result of the data analysis were follows First, the value orientation of the elementary teachers by the teacher types had differences in disciplinary mastery, self-actualization. In other words, the preservice teachers gave relatively more value on self-actualization and ecological integration than inservice teachers, and the inservice teachers placed relatively more value on disciplinary mastery and learning process than the preservice teachers. Secon, the value orientation of the elementary teachers by their teaching experiences had some differences in the teachers who have the 1∼10 year teaching experiences and the 11∼20 year teaching experiences and the 21 or more years of experiences put relatively more highly valued upon disciplinary mastery than the preservice teachers; the preservice teachers placed relatively more value on self-actualization than the all careering teachers. Generally, the elementary teachers gave the highest priority on the ecologica integration, the lowest priority in the social reconstruction. Third, the value orientation of the elementary teachers by their skill grade had differences in self-actualization. In other words, first appointment teachers and skilled teachers gave the highest priority on the self-actualization. And first appointment teachers gave the lowest priority in the disciplinary mastery, skilled teachers gave the lowest priority in the ecological integration
