With the survey data of 554 correctional officers at the correctional facilities, this paper is to find out the effects of their job satisfaction, job characteristics, role characteristics and burnout on turnover intention. According to our findings, there are several statistically significant variables that may affect turnover intention: human-relation satisfaction out of job satisfaction, skill-diversification out of job characteristics, role-ambiguity and role-overload out of role characteristics, emotional-exhaustion, dehumanization, and reduced job accomplishment out of burnout. However, this paper may not find the significations of welfare-benefits out of job satisfaction and job identification out of job characteristics. These findings may suggest that the ways to decrease the turnover intentions of the correctional officers may include increasing human satisfaction, monitoring regular psychological and emotional conditions, recruiting more correctional officers, and enhancing positive perception to the correctional officers through active public relations.
