The Poet, Kim Su-yeong(1921~1968) has left three poems which are titled as 'Snow', written respectively in 1956, 1961, and 1966. This essay is to analyze all the three snow poems. To begin with, this essay distinguishes the meaning of the 'snow' found in each poems, and further intends to explore how the distinction is related to each themes and also to the poet's interest change according to the time flow.
It is therefore found that the first 'snow' poem written in 1956, took notice of the finiteness of the snow caused by the temperature change, and the second 'snow' poem written in 1961, took notice of the strength of the snow as a cause of natural disaster, and the last snow work written in 1966 took notice of the falling snow's 'moving' characteristics.
The poet, with this different snow characteristics as his motive, tried to make it certain that he himself is a finite being in the 'snow' poem written in 1956, and he intended to clarify the limit of his resistance through the arts later in 1961's poem, and lastly in 1966's 'snow' poem, he meant to figure out the inner shape of the boredom and lethargy. His satirical techniques are commonly seen in his 'snow' works, and what we have to remember is that he had included himself in the object of his satire.
