There is little more to be said of Arabic feminine literature in modem times, especially in the beginning of the 20th century. having dealt with Egypt. Syria and the Lebanon. The Probable reason is that no other Arab country had therequisite combination of political autonomy, relative freedom of expression. easy contacts with West. and have talented writersof outstanding literacy.
However in Iraq, there were definite signs of the Nahdah-Arabic Renaissance in modem times-, despite circumstances which was only spasmodically favourable. One or Two writers achieved the lasting fame. But this was largely local. and certainly did not match with that of figures like Lebanese and Egyptian Feminist writers.
The first, and most of all. the great turning point of the feminine movement and literature in Iraq was Tammuz revolution in 1968 which started by the political party of Ba tho The Ba th government adopteda policy for Iraqi women. so Ba th eased taxation, forbade bribery. restored order. built schools, and patronized learning for iraqi women in addition of The General Federation of Iraqi Women(GFIW)
At this moment. Iraqi women writers took a part in writing short-stories and novels on feminine.
Dallal Khalil ?afd?. Mal?hah 'Ishaq and ?firah Zam?l H?fizand are the leading feminine novelist in Iraq, Daysi al-Amir is one of the best-known living feminine novelist and has published a promising collection of short stories.
