This article is a Korean translation of John B. Cobb Jr.’s lecture, titled “Process Theology: An Introductory Introduction, which was delivered at the Claremont School of Theology in September 2004 and published in the institution of Process & Faith. In this lecture, Cobb focuses on the nature of God as a way to express basic ideas of process theology in a biblical rather than philosophical approach. On the contrary to the traditional way of Christian thinking that is based on and framed by substance philosophy, process theology attempts to make the most sense of both historical Christian faith and contemporary experience. In order to reveal basic features of the theology, Cobb deals with such topics as cosmology, eschatology, and the doctrine of God. This succinct article could show the general characteristics of process theology in a very friendly way.
