This paper defines philosophical Theology as the primitive methodology of theology, and then attempts to apply this in the reinterpretation of Christian theology and doctrines. The primitive methodology here refers to self-reflection that must pass at the beginning of theology, and it can be called ‘Proto-Theology’. In Chapter 2, we look at the etymology of philosophy and what connection it has with theology. From there, Chapter 3 critically examines the work of Ludwig Feuerbach and Rudolf Bultmann, who argued that theology has always consisted of human self-understanding. Chapter 4 proposes the fact that philosophical theology acts as a method of self-reflection that can transcend this criticism, and Chapter 5 deals with the reinterpretation of Christian theology and doctrines which can be newly constituted after this work. The encounter-point of philosophy and theology that philosophical theology directs overall is the placeholder of self-reflection and idolatry, in that place experiences human, he can do nothingness. And only form here, he can start his studies properly for. Thus, philosophical theology in the realm of theology can be labelled as primitive methodology, ie, proto-theology.
