Korea now faces fierce competition from the emerging economies such as China, India. Korean Economy should upgrade its industrial structure and seek new engines for sustainable growth in order to retain the competitive advantages. In order to identify the bright promising industries in Gyeonggi Province, we first analyze the future mega-trends which will affect the demand condition in the course of industry development. We extract four core trends out of 46 possible trends by surveying the expert opinions and clustering similar trends. Four core trends are convergence of technology, urbanization, emergence of ageing society and rise of Green economy. This study proposes the new business opportunities arising from above mentioned trends. Keywords for these business drivers identified from trend analysis are Health care management(H), Valuing the Individual(V), Complexity management(M), Scarcity management(S), Efficiency & Enhancement(E). The future promising industries in Gyeonggi Province can be selected by recognizing these new business opportunities which cope with future environmental change. This study suggests New IT utilization industry, Tourism Industry, Health management service, Intelligent city development service and renewable energy development industry as five promising industries that Gyeonggi Province should support and nourish.
