Report Errors
The rebuke of prophets against the God's people was mainly related to the sin about the worship in the Bible. It gives a lesson that God's interest of worship put first on any other religious behaviors of His people. In our days there are many views on the debates and questions that are styles in worship, particularly around music. The features of today's worship in church can be distorted by the influence of pragmatism, materialism, and secularism Worship is about God himself and should be formatted based on the Bible and church tradition
This paper attempts to explore the biblical, historical, and pastoral background of modem liturgy, and to propose some constructive ideas for liturgical renewal in Korean church. In the theological aspect of worship, the research studied the definition of worship, the importance of worship, and the biblical basis of worship. In the historical aspects of worship, the researcher studied the worship of early church, medieval church, reformation era, and puritan' s times. In the pastoral aspects of worship, the research studied the origin and development of contemporary worship, positive and negative influence of contemporary worship. Worship renewal can not be generated or produced by some techniques.
In the conclusion the researcher proposed several ideas of worship renewal: 1) The movement of the Word restoration should be happened. 2) The Sacrament should be restored in the regular worship service. 3) The aspects of festival in the worship needs to be added more aggressively for remembrance of salvation of God. 4) The concept of 'liturgy after liturgy' should be emphasized because the real worship is the way of life in the ordinary life as the God's chosen people.
