The research works on Peer response in relation to Japanese education has been increasing over the recent years. Peer response is when once students have completed their first drafts in their writing composition, they are to exchange their drafts with classmates to check whether any mistakes were made and give correct answers, including comments for further revision.
The beginner level and intermediate level of Japanese students were examined in this research project. The purpose of this study is to get a clear view on the effectiveness of feedback given by classmates through Peer response activities.
Results
ㆍStudents were able to give correct feedbacks against the errors made by other classmates.
ㆍAlthough there were some incorrect feedbacks given by readers, the writer managed to self-repair their mistakes.
