Based on a lack of research about the impact of personality on peer feedback in EFL writing, this study investigated relevant research questions with two proficiency groups of college students. The study also focused on the differing effects when giving and receiving peer feedback. The findings included the following: First, lower proficiency seemed to play a role in giving higher satisfaction when receiving feedback. Second, motivation was significantly correlated with effectiveness in the Lower group. Third, participants strengthened their ability and confidence more when receiving feedback. Fourth, the effectiveness of extroverts was higher when receiving feedback, particularly in the Higher group. Lastly, personality affected the preference of peer type of Higher group. Based on these findings, pedagogical implications and suggestions for future research are discussed.
