The purpose of this study is to examine the sexuality recognition of participants over intellectual disabilities in living facilities. The study has been carried out on 139 participants from living facilities for intellectual disabilities registered at Kyeongsanbuk-do Association of the Welfare Institutes for the Disabled through mail survey. And the frequency analysis. descriptive analysis and ANOVA have been conducted for analysis purposes.
The frequency analysis has been conducted as a concrete positive analysis method to confirm the general facts of respondents, and distinctive features and distribution of the data. The frequency, percentage, average and standard deviation have been, evaluated to analyze the followings: the general knowledge on gender and the attitude of participants in living facilities, the attitude of participants towards intellectual disabilities in living facilities, and the sexuality education for participants and their desire towards the program.
The T-test and ANOVA have been conducted to analyze the general features of participants in living facilities and the recognition of intellectual disabilities on gender. And, in case of where significant differences exist, the post-hoc analysis has been conducted, and examined for correlations.
The statistically significant differences have been shown in between social welfare and the people above-postgraduate-level as well as the nurses in rehabilitation field in sexuality recognition and desire of intellectual disabilities, which both refers to the general features, respectively. However, there was no significant outcome shown in settlement of sex problem that refers to the general features.
Based on these results, the plan on the recognition of participants over the gender of intellectual disabilities in living facilities has been groped.
