In general Yi Byoung Do is known as one of the most influential history scholars in modern Korea. But Some have argued that his studies on Korean ancient history were influenced by Japanese Colonialism Study of Korean History. In this paper I tried to investigate some issues which have mentioned as examples.
1) Old Choson: Yi Byoung Do tried to demonstrate that Kija, Wiman were not chinese political exiles but Old Choson peoples and so Kija Choson and Wiman Choson were not Chinese colonies or colonial states.
2) Chinese Commanderies: He rate high that Chinese Commanderies influenced Korean ancient societies and they grew to establish ancient states. This is different from Japanese Colonialism Study of Korean History, which emphasized their character of colonies.
3) Three Kingdoms: He did not regard the records on early Three Kingdoms as reliable authority, but some of them are related to historical facts. This is different from Japanese Colonialism Study of Korean History, which give up all of them.
