In educating students, there are various matters that we, as professors should consider. It is unnecessary to mention that college education is not just for focusing on job search. However, the first problem that students confront after graduation is, of course, facing employment. From the male professors' perspective, lack of career-related experiences for females in society can be viewed as trivial. But still, such discrimination exists in various levels. Therefore, guidance by male professors could mislead students when making career decisions. It would be irresponsible to advise students to pursue a Ph. D when there is little chance of actually getting a teaching position in the academia Ignorance of male professors could also pose an obstacle to foster female students who have the competitive edge as knowledge workers.
The ultimate goal of introducing Knowledge Management to International Office Management major is to assist students in obtaining required competence posed by companies and other organizations. With the beginning of the new millennium, International Office Management aims to provide an adequate environment for students to obtain individual competitive power. We plan to give students the power of choice in making their career decisions by promoting individual competitive power and making them knowledge workers, which companies seek. Understanding the importance of endless self-development and lifetime education is a form of network that allows us to share and exchange knowledge - network that can update the knowledge that has been accumulated by students during college or after graduation through constant use.
School of graduation and your concentrated area of studies are not as important as before. The importance is what you own as an individual - your competitive power. In response to change in career options. International Office Management is developing an evolutionary education program, and our excellent faculty members are devoting themselves for a better and higher education with great enthusiasm.
