Adopting a career development culture into the curriculum is more than just an education issue; it is an issue that both can be beneficial on a societal level as well as for the individual. It would lead to students developing much needed career management skills give students more opportunity to find meaningful work, serving both the greater good and students’ needs. This paper will first introduce the topic of career development then review research that shows the positive aspects for students by infusion of career topics. Then justifications for policy interventions are given along with an explanation of how internationally accepted career development competencies can be used to foster a career development culture within schools.
