This paper examines various aspects of work attitude including career after graduation, preparation concerning future career and work attitude of college students. The sample is based on students who took the class of Work and Occupation. The results reveal that students do not have a succinct goal for their career development. Concerning marriage the new generation seem to have more progressive ideas compared to old generation. The survey reveals that even for the senior students preparations for career are not sufficient. Comparing the degree of preparation, male students are better than female students in the area of job search, English and documentation for various job application forms, while female students are better prepared in the area of coordination and make-up for job interview, implying that overall preparation is better for male students compared to female students. Also the survey shows that college students prefer leisure than work and do not want to work more than co-workers. They respond that the purpose of work is to enjoy life rather than self realization or social contribution. In comparison with the comparable survey for Japanese newly hired workers in 1991, we find that Japanese young generation in general show higher motivation to work.
