The purpose of this essay is to study a mode of Korea modern realism poetry. A study on a mode is a process of consider formal and aesthetic side. The method of a study of image and motif is to be a question of theme while a study of a mode covers expressions and rhetoric. The existing discussion of realism poetry is focused on ‘what to say'. But it has been said to overlook an achievement on aesthetic side in realist literature instead.
This study also pays attention to allegory and rhetorical features of allusion in realism poetry in 1960' and 70', and it places emphasis on the question of ‘effects of reading'. Allegory basically conceals meanings but its intention is for finding out and realizing the meaning out of the concealment as well. Through allegoric thinking, poets usually applies contrast to emphasize its theme, and apostrophe and imperative mood to make the speaker being of omniscience. Allusion provides various episodes related and typical form while allegory is a pattern of expression to build an identified world.
