This paper has been studied to review whether Substandard Housing Redevelopment Projects since 1973. has worked well to meet the purpose of recovering the function of city, raising the utility of whole land use, and supplying the sound and sustainable residential environment for the lower income brackets. Analyses on Housing satisfaction have been done on the basis of the study of whole sample, scale of site and two groups of homeowners and renters who have formerly lived at the redevelopment site.
There was found the difference of the satisfaction to housing conditions and indoor environments between housing cooperative members and renters. Also the level of satisfaction of these two groups to the neighborhood differed much depending on the forms (separated or integrated) of the entrance. The relative importance of the factors affecting cooperative members' and renters' total satisfaction showed the difference between them. The major factor affecting the former's satisfaction was housing conditions while that affecting the latter's satisfaction was inner complex environments. Especially, renters want individual heating system rather than central heating system.
