This study intends to identify the traffic density in the citcular plain city area. The traffic density which is defined as the through traffic volume per unit area could be calculated in two cases of the trip distribution pattern. One is the concentrative trip distribution to C.B.D., the other is the uniform origin destination trip distribution.
The conclusions are following :
1. Not only the concentrative distribution to C.B.D. but also the uniform O.D. distribution cause the very high traffic density in C.B.D. and its surroundings.
2. From the capacity of C.B.D. concerned with the traffic density it is aroused the problem of the critical city size & population.
3. The concept of this traffic density could be used as a tool for the design of arterial road pattern and width.
