The purpose of this article is to be investigated that cultural popularization movement in the liberation period should have been developed how and what is the historical meaning. This article divide cultural popularization movement into two periods for this, and inspect a discourse and organized practice of cultural popularization carefully.
The first period(1945.8～1946.7) cultural popularization movement is mainly focused on the organization of cultural united front and enlightenment movement. But the center organization is active the other side, the region organization cannot become accomplished well. Enlightenment movement was regarded as a method of cultural popularization. Munhakga-Dongmaeng developed the activity for masses enlightenment but the result was feeble.
The second period(1946.8～1947.8) cultural popularization movement is summarized in theory on the conversion of course and various enterprises. The theory on the conversion of course means that cultural movement must be converted from abstract discussion with concrete practice. Consequently, Munhakga-Dongmaeng inflicted the spur in center organizational maintenance and branch construction. With the result, it gets bearing fruit to some degree. On side, by concrete practice for cultural popularization, Munhakga-Dongmaeng developed organization for Munhwa-circle, issue a organ and publication, activity of Munhwagongjakdan. It obtained the advanced results over the first period.
