The purpose of this study is to research that how the configuration method has been changed at Korean epic literature for the mythical hero, a figure of Yaraja type, and the characters of heroic novels.
This paper shows that the method of configuration is different from the consciousness to aim at the myth, legend, and heroic novels which are included at the category of Korean epic literature. For example, it appears to be different if the parents of the heroic character are configurated from another aspect. The parents in myth were regarded as the existence of God for the hero inherits the divine nature of the patrilineage instead of prominence of paternal's role. A father is described as alien substance and a mother as a human being in the legend of Yaraja type. The hero is configured as a character who is half human and half God. In that the course of hero's birth is very secret, it is emphasized that he is unusual from the ordinary person.
On the other hand, parents are introduced as perfect men at the work of Yuchungryul in Chosun Dynasty, the hero at heroic novel is characterized as a dream of forthcoming conception.
