The purpose of this paper is to study the present states and the tasks on the transmission of the local folksongs through the school education. For this purpose, I had interviews and questionnaires with the preservative groups of the local folksongs, school teachers and students.
1. They feel keenly the necessity of the transmission of the local folksongs through the school education. But the preservative groups aren’t positive of the effects of that because of indifferent attitudes of the schools and the fixed transmission view of those groups. Teachers have responsibilities of the transmission of the local folksongs, but they misunderstand about the substance of the folksongs, and have regard for themselves teaching.
2. The case is based on The Dae-gu Sim-in high school’s transmission of the Gong-San local folk songs. the possibility and educational effect of folk songs transmission is checked out though the questionnaire. I gain the confidence that the students can be a very valuable human resources and that their experiences of folk songs have a important role in the transmission of the local folk songs.
3. This kinds of education have effects like those; Students can be experienced and felt the local cultures and the commission of those cultures transmission. Also, The pride of the local cultures gives a chance to the students to understand the self-understanding.
4. The next task to enlarge the educational effects and the possiblity of the transmission is like those; The school party have more time to educate, multi-curriculums and human resources for folk songs.
The preservative party have changes time for the cognition about the transmission of the local folk songs and variative educational programs.
This paper will be the first step to the practical approach to remove out the distrust of the transmission by the school. The detailed study will be continued by next paper and survey.
