The goal of this research is to first gain an understanding of the current situation in liberal arts research positions at national and public institutions and examine the problems in the employment system, then find jobs in liberal arts research positions based on an analysis of positions at public institutions.
Firstly, I examined the laws and regulations related to liberal arts research positions in the present job condition at national and public institutions, and I calculated the number of civil servants in liberal arts positions based on this year's civil service quotas. It was discovered that, at present, liberal arts research positions in local governments are inadequate in comparison to liberal arts research positions in national institutions. Secondly, I examined the problems in employment examples for liberal arts research positions at national institutions and in local governments. Thirdly, I looked into the survey and analysis of positions at public institutions. It was discovered that liberal arts positions are needed in the fields of "cultural property designation and cancellation" and "maintenance and restoration of cultural properties" in local governments. The hope of this research is that more research and viable plans for the expansion of job opportunities for humanities majors will emerge.
