This paper looks at the current situation and traits of educational programs for cultivating human resources of cultural contents industry in college level, based on the analysis of curriculum design, which are currently being operated by the prominent educational institutes in overseas. Different kinds of departments or educational programs, ranging from media production, business administration, to art, engineering and humanities are involved in educating talents for creating stories, producing visuals and animation, marketing products, and applying new technological innovations to produce service applications.
Many efforts, including quality control of the learning contents, flexible curriculum management, cooperative efforts among related fields, are made by these institutions in order to produce qualified human resources demanded in the market. In most undergraduate curriculum, liberal arts education is increasingly emphasized for cultivating students' basic skills and competencies, which are required as professionals in creative industries. In addition, learner-centered education is a keyword in recent curriculum design and most educational institutions tries to provide individualized learning supports and learner management. It is recommendable to consider the current trends of college level education shown in leading overseas institutions, along with educational traits and learning environment as well as needs of industrial fields, in designing or revising curriculum for domestic learners.
