Until recently, international economic and political order had' been based upon the cold war between the West and the East. A dramatic change ha s occurred, however, since the dismantling of the Eastern European communist countries as well as the collapse of the former Soviet Union: except for a handful number countries, all countries over the world are now the free market economic system.
Another significant development in the world economic field is the trend accelerated economic integration of developed countries such as the expanded Eli and North America Free Trade Agreement(NAFTA)
Accordingly, as, a small open economy. Korea should adjust the existing trade policy to fit to the structure changes in the world economy, at the same time the direct ion of on-going internationalization and open door policy should keep up with the new trend of the regionalism.
The purpose of this essay, expecially to contribute a condition and policy needed in strengthening a export competitveness in NAFTA. is to propose the strategy for promoting direct investment in Mexico.
The phased model of Korea's advance strategies on foreign direct investment incentive in the Mexico could be summarized as follows:
1) Construct of industrial cooperation system
2) Invasion of the Mexico, NAFTA and the Central and South American market
3) Diversification on manufacturing area, diversity in category of business and enlarge the plan of direct investment
4) Locationalization and cooperation between labour and management
5) Strengthening the information collecting
