This study explores the logistics information systems of Kwangyang Port for the era of information society. This study is aimed to suggest some strategies for establishing the logistics information systems of Kwangyang Port for the era of information society effectively. This study was mainly constructed by the analysis of secondary & survey data and a review of research reports. Port logistics information system in the ear of information society is reviewed in the second section on a theoretical perspective. Section three tries to analyse the current situation of logistics information system of Kwangyang Port. Establishment strategies of the logistics information system of Kwangyang Port are identified in the fourth part. The significant establishment strategies are mainly associated with the following strategies ; enlarged EDI services in port logistics, efficient development of national logistics information system, introduction of CALS to maritime industry, GIS application in port logistics information system, enhanced connection information super highway with port logistics information system, and construction plan of Teleport.
