The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a Nature-oriented Early Childhood Program Based upon Observation Aptitute Promotion and the Creativity Development of Children.
This study was performed after a Nature-oriented Early Childhood Program had been carried out at A Children's home in I city for six months. 30 children were taken for the pre-test and post-test for this study. A Observational Appitute Test designed by researcher and consisted of 3 sub-factors. The Creativity Development Test originally designed by Cheon, KyungWon(1995) was adapted by the researcher and consisted of 4 sub-factors. The data was analysed with the use of the SPSS/PC+ program package and by using the statistical t-test at the 5% level, the results were found to be siginificant. The t-test was deliberately used to analyse the data from the Nature-oriented Early Childhood Program in order to compare the differences in the creativity development and observational appitute promotion of the children before and after the program had taken place.
The results obtained were as follows ;
Firstly, the overall effectiveness after the Nature-oriented Early Childhood Program had taken place was evident in the children's behavior, for they showed signs of promoting observational appitute and developing creativity.
Secondly, there is significant difference in the observational appitute promotion measurement and creativity development measuremnet according to age after the application of this program, the creativity development and observational appitute promotion of children aged four is higher than that of five year old children. In the all sub-factors of the observational appitute promotion and creativity development, four year old children are higher than that of five year olds.
