The purpose of this study was to identify parents' performance of home education contents in family with young Children, and furthermore, at examining what kind of aspects this performance has depending on the age of parents, their school career and occupation. The mothers of 105 kindergarten children and 215 elementary school children in Mokpo participated in this study by a questionnaire developed by the researcher.
The results of this study are the followings:
1. The level of parents' performance in home education contents is satisfactory, which reflects the Korean parents realistic desires and expectations for children's education. The teaching contents mainly deal with the formal manners and modern familism while parents are negligent of religion-related education and the maintenance of family culture and value. Sex educations and the educations for family community's maintenance are also neglected.
2. Parents' performance of home education contents in family with young children was different according to the age of parents, their school career and occupation.
