<Wonbusa> has been recognized just as a different version of <Gyuwonga(閨怨歌)>. However, it is considerably worth re-evaluating <Wonbusa> as it has continuously remained in the Jabgajip(雜歌集) series published during 20th centuries. The present study designated the several different versions of <Wonbusa> as 'the <Wonbusa> group of Gasa' and investigated the special features of this group.
In the <Wonbusa> group of Gasa there are several texts named ‘Chungruwonbyulgok(靑樓怨別曲)’ or ‘Bakmyungtan(薄命歎)’. <Wonbusa> was supposed to undergoes changes to several styles.
The present study attempts to investigate the changes in characteristics of the Gasa genre in the late Chosun(朝鮮) period. It has been indicated that, with a reciprocal influence with the Yoehang(閭巷)；Sijeong(市井) cultural area, the characteristic of the Gasa genre began to alter from the period before and after 18th century. One direction among changes notified in the present study is that Gasa underwent a change getting close to a Jabga(雜歌) style since it was being sung in the Yoehang·Sijeong cultural area.
It can be postulated that <Wonbusa> in the late Chosun period was slowly changing close to a Jabga style with being frequently sung in the Yoehang· Sijeong cultural area. It is highly plausible that the these styles of <Wonbusa> have been enjoyed as the works for Gachang(歌唱). I propose that <Wonbusa> has been enjoyed for a considerably long period as compared to <Gyuwonga> and that, during differentiation into several styles, <Wonbusa> was getting slowly close to the cultural area of Gachang.
