The intellectualistic poetics is the one type of Korean modernism poetic theory. It is to theorize on the characteristics of imagism poetry.
The intellectualism paies attention to the true nature itself of the thing and grasps it objectively. The intellectualism is interested also in the language which expresses the thing to be the material. Kim Ki-Rim pointed the thing to use usual conversation in the poetry as important feature of the modernism. Choi Jae-Seo thinks the image in the aspect to be the language.
Another feature of an intellectualistic poetics is the thing to emphasize the science. The science is not 'the natural science' but is 'the scholarship' in this. In Kim Ki-Rim's early poetic theory, the science is the attitude of the criticism which emphasizes the intellectual element. The science is the psychology which explains the experience of the reader and poet after then Choi Jae-Seo thinks the science as the method which explain a creation course of the poetry.

Kim Ki-Rim uses the satire and is trying a society criticism and reality change. But Choi Jae-Seo criticizes the satire and insists to advance to the direction to be rather the deed.
