This study was intended to research the male fantastic of conversion writers and subject ambivalent, centering on the companion writer that were characteristic in conversion novels.
The research scope was circumscribed to such the companion writer as Lee Hyo-Seok for effective study. This writer, members of the Companion writers was faithful to the proletarian literature and earnestly advocated its ideology. But this writer was not compelled to give up the socialism by the power of nation, than converted and pursed the new direction of Literature-Movement through conversion novel.
A male subject was represented authorial insecurity after conversion as the gender-oriented narrative structure. That was connected political misogyny form. This aspect represented with the bodily falling process and abhor form. Male subjectivity in conversion novels was formed ambivalence and defense mechanism of their power and authority.
This is testifying imperial power and colonial impulse of male conversion writers. Thus these novels were used rhetoric of <resistance>. <debasement>. <idealization>. This rhetorics were connected a patriarch with the empire power. Also. this aspect associated aestheticization of Lee Hyo-Seok's life.
