Purpose: This study was conducted to find an answer to whether the attribute importance of Urban Air Mobility (UAM) can change depending on the overlapping effect of psychological distance. Specifically, this study tried to explore whether desirable attributes are more important or feasible attributes are more important when evaluating UAM. At this time, this study tried to examine whether the overlapping effect of psychological distance affects the importance of attributes. If it affects, it tried to clarify the psychological reason. Research design, data, and methodology: S tudy 1 & 2 consisted o f a between-subject design of 2×2. The first independent variable is the temporal distance (far vs. close), and the second independent variable is the spatial distance (far vs. close). The number of respondents in the Study 1 was 200, and the study 2 was 256. The results were got by the paired T-test, regression analysis and the analysis of variance. Results: The effect of temporal distance × spatial distance on the attribute importance of UAM was analyzed by ANOVA. It is hypothesized that the high-feasibility attribute (=call convenience, or the comfort of a seat) becomes important only in the near-time & near-space conditions, and the importance of this feasible attribute is not highly recognized in the rest of three conditions. This is because only in close time & near space conditions, consumers have a lower level construal that focuses on feasibility, and in the rest of three conditions, they have a higher level construal that focuses on desirability. As a result of the analysis, as expected, the feasibility of UAM was most important only in the near future & near boarding place condition Conclusions: This study showed that psychological distance over time and space affects the attribute importance of UAM related thereto. As a result of this, some UAMs are majestic from a distance, and others need to be approached to reveal their true value.
