This study aimed to analyze current yoga trends in South Korea by employing a big data-based text mining approach. Using the keyword "yoga instructor training," data were collected from three major domestic and international portal sites (Naver, Daum, Google) between 2021 and 2023. The analysis was conducted using TEXTOM (The IMC, 2024), and word frequency analysis as well as TF-IDF were applied to extract key insights. Additionally, LDA topic modeling was performed to identify and structure the principal themes in yoga trends. The results indicated that “flying,” “wall,” “meditation,” “rehabilitation,” and “correction” emerged as key terms through word frequency and TF-IDF analysis. Furthermore, LDA topic modeling extracted four core topics, which were identified as “Traditional Yoga and Mind-Body Healing,” “Rehabilitation and Anatomy-Based Yoga,” “Customized Professional Yoga,” and “Therapeutic and Rehabilitation Yoga.” Based on these findings, it was confirmed that current yoga education in South Korea predominantly emphasizes physical benefits, suggesting that the philosophical and spiritual values of traditional yoga are not sufficiently reflected in contemporary programs. Therefore, this study highlights the need for future yoga education programs to integrate both physical benefits and mental-spiritual values, ultimately promoting mind-body balance and inner growth.
