This study, unlike previous literature, focuses on semantic analysis of a particular university, Mokpo National University, by utilizing big data. It aims to extract related terms and perform a semantic network analysis to visualize the meaning structure of the university. The study follows a three-step research procedure, collecting data from portal sites such as news articles, websites, blogs, and online cafes, refining and analyzing the data to extract useful information. Matrix data was generated from the extracted key terms to perform a semantic network analysis, and network centrality, CONCOR(CONvergence of iterated CORrelations), and ego-network analyses were conducted using the Ucinet 6.0 program. The results of the study revealed that most of the extracted terms were related to college and education, but terms such as ocean, culture, industry, and society also appeared, reflecting the region's unique characteristics and local culture. This underpins the idea that Mokpo National University, located in a regional area, should reflect the local culture and characteristics. Therefore, Mokpo National University, being adjacent to the ocean, needs to make efforts to integrate features related to marine culture. In addition, more conclusions and implications were discussed in this study.
