This study utilized a sample of 260 to investigate the employment preferences considered by students majoring in hospitality and to verify the differences based on their personal variables. First, in the analysis of differences by gender, it was found that women perceived the factor of external image as a higher employment preference than men. Second, in the analysis of differences by type of university, students from four-year universities had a higher intrinsic perception of 'hotel characteristics' (p<.01) compared to those from two-year colleges. Third, regarding differences in grades, significant intergroup differences were found in 'hotel characteristics' and 'external image.' Students with a GPA of 4.0 or higher had a higher intrinsic perception of 'hotel characteristics' than those with a GPA of 3.0 or lower. Similarly, for 'external image,' students with GPAs of 3.5 or higher, including those with GPAs of 4.0 or higher, had a greater intrinsic perception than those with GPAs of 3.0 or lower.
