This study revisits the learning trajectories of area and volume concepts by examining and organizing them as proposed in previous research. Through a step-by-step analysis, these trajectories are compared with those presented in Korean elementary and middle school mathematics textbooks, as well as the U.S. Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM). The study identifies significant differences in how these concepts are presented and emphasizes the need for enhancing learning trajectories in Korean textbooks to better align with the findings of related empirical studies and international standards. The research provides recommendations for curriculum and textbook development, aiming to improve students' understanding and application of area and volume.
