This article explores the reasons for the increase/decrease in the sex experience rate of young people based on the results of a survey of the sex experience rate of university, high school, and junior high school students conducted by the Japan Association of Gender Education between 1974 and 2017.
According to the results of this survey, the sex experience rate has continued to rise since 1974, peaking in 2005.
Accordingly, the factors contributing to this increase in the rate of sexual experience were analyzed separately, considering both internal influences related to the individual and external influences stemming from the society in which the students reside.
Finally, in 2005, both male and female college and male high school students displayed declining sexual experience rates. There are several underlying causes, which will be explored by this study.
