In contemporary society, consumption patterns are continually evolving due to various socio-cultural factors. Notably, the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the rise of single-person households have shifted the focus towards the individual, leading to self-oriented consumption behaviors. These societal changes have underscored the importance of contactless shopping via online and mobile platforms, thereby expanding the untact distribution market. Consumers play a central role in purchase decision-making, making it essential to analyze the diverse factors influencing their purchasing decisions to understand consumer behavior. Particularly, the personality and values of consumers significantly impact their consumption tendencies, thus understanding and recognizing self-determination is crucial for enhancing buyer satisfaction. This study aims to examine the impact of self-determination on cosmetic purchasing tendencies and appearance management behaviors according to consumption value orientation. The research sample consisted of 639 women in their twenties from across the country who have experienced untact shopping, and data were collected and analyzed using a survey method. According to the results of this study, it was confirmed that each of self-determination acts as an important variable in consumption value orientation and cosmetic purchasing tendencies when consuming untact shopping, and self-determination affects cosmetic purchasing tendencies through consumption value orientation. This study aims to provide cosmetic companies with foundational data by verifying how self-determination among women in their twenties influences cosmetic purchasing tendencies and appearance management behaviors through consumption value orientation in untact shopping. This is expected to offer effective promotional methods for cosmetic marketing and contribute to the development of the beauty industry.
