This study was conducted to identify problems and suggest improvement measures by analyzing the status of music copyright transactions focusing on Musicow’s music copyright transaction platform. As a result of sampling and analyzing 94 sound sources traded over the year 2020, 79.8% of the starting price of the auction was between 5,000 and 25,000 cash, and 89.46% of the expected result by bidding price per share(successful bid, first-come-first-served partial bid) was between 10,000 and 40,000 won. Over the past three years (2018-2020), the average copyright fee per share between 2,000 and 7,000 won was found to account for 70.3%, and 79.9% of the revenue structure for copyright fees (last 12 months) was transmission (music distribution, YouTube, etc.) and performance (amusement facilities, large stores, etc.). The rate of return (compared to the starting price of the auction) was 79.3% for less than 15% and 20.7% for more than 15%. Based on the analysis results, it suggested legalizing music copyright transaction platforms, systematizing strategies and programs to socialize music copyright transaction platforms, supporting music writing and performing activities in the industrial aspect, and diversifying the revenue structure as it is concentrated on a specific structure.
