The purpose of this study is to empirically identify research trends in lifesaving on water by using topic modeling, and to present academic tasks to be directed to researchers so that they can faithfully fulfill their academic roles and functions in the ever-expanding water safety. In this study, keyword analysis and topic modeling were conducted using NetMiner 4.0 to derive research trends for lifesaving on water. As a result of this study, first, six topics were derived through topic modeling. Topic 1: Water Safety Accident Management Plan, Topic 2: Water Life Rescue Education, Topic 3: Lifeguard Qualification System, Topic 4: Lifeguard Work Environment, Topic 5: Water Life Accident Status, Topic 6: Survival Swimming Overseas appeared as a case analysis. Second, as for the trend of analysis by period through topic modeling, in the first period(2001-2010), research on water lifesaving education, and in the second period(2011-2015), research on water safety accident management plan along with education on water lifesaving education was started, and in the 3rd period(2016-2022), research on the management plan for safety accidents on water and the lifeguard qualification system was conducted.
