In modern society, people"s attention is shifting from living well to dying well, but hospice facilities, which exist to help people die well, still have a negative perception. This suggests the need for hospice facilities to be a close place to encounter death. This study was conducted with the aim of interpreting death from an Eastern perspective and identifying a new hospice facility program that could be introduced in Korea, as opposed to modern hospice that focus on palliative care for physical and psychological symptoms of Western medicine. The derived programs were combined with the Eastern spatial division to present the flow of use so that the entire space becomes one hospice program. Through the literature review, the limitation of modern hospice facilities and the need for an Eastern approach to death was confirmed, and a new Eastern program axis was defined based on Eastern views of death that differ from Western ones. In the process, six elements emerged: tea and discourse, independent choice, making the right decisions and preparing for death, recording one"s life, returning to nature, and reincarnation. Based on this, a spatial program reflecting the Eastern view of death was derived, and the flow of space use was presented by combining it with the Eastern spatial division. The significance of this study is that it derives new programs from the Eastern view of death, which is premised on essential insights into death and life, rather than the modern hospice that began with Western standards.
