The purpose of this study is to investigate the existing outdoor exercise facilities in the coastal area of Gwangalli, Busan, identify the problems of the facilities, analyze the user needs using the behavior pattern map and the Kano model, and derive the functional requirements of the outdoor exercise facilities, thereby realizing the optimized design innovation and application of the outdoor smart exercise facilities. The main target of the study is office workers who enjoy outdoor exercise and are interested in smart devices. The research method is firstly, to visit the outdoor exercise facilities in the coastal area of Gwangalli, Busan, and evaluate them, and then summarize the problems of the existing facilities. Next, a persona questionnaire is constructed for office workers, and the user''s behavior, emotion, and experience are analyzed using the behavior pattern map, and the user needs of the product are derived. Secondly, a questionnaire is designed using the Kano model 5-point scale method, and data is collected from the target population through on-site and online survey methods, and the user needs attributes are classified and sorted using the Kano model tool. Through this, the user''s priority for the outdoor facility smartization function design is analyzed. Finally, the product''s functional requirements are integrated with the hardware and software modules of the smart exercise facility, and the service system is built, and the product''s appearance design, CMF design, and interface design methods are proposed. The result of this study is that the user needs are systematically organized into a behavior pattern map, and the Kano model tool is integrated into the design process of the outdoor smart exercise facility. In addition, based on the outdoor smart exercise facility service system, a creative design method is proposed. This presents a fusion of service design and emotional engineering design methods to designers, and provides reference and guidance for the design development of future smart exercise facilities.
