The purpose of this study is to investigate what the practical competencies of counselors are and the order of priority in their competencies. For those purposes, this study used data from 240 questionnaires gathered from the counselors" for all fields. The survey was about the competency model and competency needs of the research participants. The methods of data analysis used in this study were Cronbanch"s αanalysis, paired t-tests, Borich"s needs analysis formula, and the Locus for Focus model. Through the Borich needs analysis formula, the derived competencies were ranked in order of their ability to cope with unexpected situations and their ability to induce counselors" motivation.
