For an effective delivery and bringing biblical truth, embodied preaching is something to be highly considered for practice. Preachers should express their spirituality through their physical motions and personal experience, and it is what embodied preaching means. It consists of performance, oral communication, and kinesthetic movements. Performance, including nonverbal communication such as body movement, increase the congregation’s participation. Oral communication not only provides new and alternative views of the Bible for preachers, but it also helps create and build bonds and trust between the preacher and their congregation, due to being an in-person form of interaction. Lastly, kinesthetic movement in preaching is something that is not familiar to Korean congregations, but it is an effective approach for embodied preaching. The Bible has been analyzed too technically, thus losing its spiritual and human elements of the storytelling. By having the preacher kinesthetically perform and reenact the Word of God, would help their congregation participate deeply. Many Korean churches have tried recovering members after COVID-19, and active participation can motivate such needed increases in members. Although Korean culture has been identified as feminine than masculine, the performance of embodied preaching ignites a congregation’s attention and raises motivation. Embodied preaching by a preacher who is equipped with the skills of performance, oral communication, and kinesthetic movement can help develop what Korean congregations are already performing themselves such as active response to the preachers and outspoken prayer.
