This study is to investigate the expressional structure of Korean and Japanese languages based on the theory of structure in expressions. This contrastive study on expressional structure aims at identifying natural expressions of the languages beyond grammatical accuracy, which is meaningful in that this can be directly applied to the fields of language education and translation &interpretation as well. In particular, the study focuses on Japanese nominal structure, Noun + no + Noun. As a result of the study, Korean is considered as a strongly active language that describes an event specifically. On the other hand, Japanese is understood as a strongly passive language that tends to express a situation concisely and implicitly. This conclusion can be proved more certainly by analyzing statistic figures showing Korean verbal expressions and Japanese nominal expressions in real materials.
