The human brain is a product of long-lasted evolution process. The present brain research has been fundamentally based on the evolution theory and inheritance engineering. Seeing to it in large scale, the brain research has aimed at looking into the human ego-working mechanism as a neural correlate. The brain science can be regarded as a standpoint of a mind-body monism. However, the human experience/choice/free will is also considered important as much as inherited determinism. I have spoken my mind that the selflessness theory among Buddhist epistemology have something in common with the recent understandings of brain science. The study of brain science about consciousness is yet the early stage. It is expected for the breadth of the general understanding of the Buddhism to be expanded, as the study of brain science on asceticism and meditation is to take a major step forward.
