When it comes to Franz Kafka, it’s hard not to mention women. This is because the women are a driving force in making his life happy or lonely. In his whole life, there was an ambivalence such as the choice between writing and marriage, dating women and breakup with women, etc, and this always gave him a hard time. Kafka’s women also feel the ambivalence. In fact, Kafka’s women also show two sides of them. One is the woman who keeps struggling with reality. The other is excellently adaptable to any environment. And all these images of the women are certainly described in his works. Especially, in 『The Castle』 (1926), Kafka’s last posthumous work, there are different kinds of women appearing in the book. Not only that, but various types of women appear in <Sky Castle> (2018-2019), popular JTBC’s drama. Those women have similarities with the women in『The Castle』. And that is all the women seize the power gained from men. Considering I am living in the era of convergence, I conducted a comparative analysis between the women in <Sky Castle>, which was the renowned drama and the women in <Castle> by Kafka, the classic novel, just because their titles are similar to each other.
