The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of bicultural attitude on carrier decision-making among multicultural adolescents and the moderated mediation effect of gender through achievement motivation. For the purpose, using the 8th wave of the Multicultural Adolescents Pannel Study (MAPS), this study conducted data analyses with a sample of 1,022 adolescents in multicultural families composed of foreign-born mothers and Korean fathers. The main results are as follows. First, multicultural adolescents’ bicultural attitude positively significantly influenced carrier decision-making. Second, multicultural adolescents’ achievement motivation partially mediated the influence of bicultural attitude on carrier decision-making. The levels of bicultural attitude increased the levels of achievement motivation, and in turn increased the levels of carrier decision-making. Third, multicultural adolescents’ gender moderated the indirect influence of bicultural attitude on carrier decision-making through achievement motivation. The indirect influence was more pronounced for male adolescents than for female adolescents. Based on the results of this study, diverse practice implications were suggested to support carrier decision-making among multicultural adolescents.
