Consideration has been continually raised for what economics as general education teaches. Realistically, the problem is recognized that the principles of economics and economics as general education have no difference. However, few researches on its improvement plan have been conducted in substance. Accordingly, this study researched how economics as general education should be and how its stereotype as a difficult one is tackled. Pluralism is suggested as a solution. Foreign countries have been interested in pluralism, and network of students, professor and experts has practiced pluralism in Australia and USA. Currently, pluralism can be applied in economics as general education under the curriculum of Korea. The class of economics can change thought of non-majors from preconception about difficult economics into universal and friendly one. This class has been conducted combining the principle of economics with economic issues. In conclusion, the class of economics deviating from the principle of economics and combining real economic issues makes students better understand economics. Also, it makes future interest and critical thinking enhanced through discussion. Eventually, the quality of class improves. The method of pluralism though various examples help non-economic major better understand economics as general education and this can be a solution for narrowing the gap between theory and reality.
